This bush-habit summer squash type remains virtually unchanged since pre-Columbian times, when it was grown by indigenous peoples of the mid-Atlantic region. Smooth to slightly warted, bright yellow fruit with signature recurved necks are produced abundantly over a long season. Best when harvested young, at about 5-6” in length, when the white, fine-textured white flesh is at its most flavorful.
