More commonly topping-out at 1-2 pounds, this delicious, mild-flavored fresh type isn’t a long-keeper but can be stored for a couple of months. Developed in 1887 by one David Murray, who was the head gardener at Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland, and named for a notable, perfectly round rock off the Scottish coast. The round to teardrop-shaped bulbs, with pale yellow to almost silvery skins, have been grown by generations of gardeners, particularly adored by those looking to win in their local fairs!
